Home sick with the flu today…the school is all but closed down with an H1N1 threat (surgical masks, ear temperature readers, and unidentified liquids being sprayed in the classrooms were regular sights in the last 3 or 4 days) which means I did not have to get anyone to cover my classes…I don’t have that flu ….but whatever I have is nasty and has to be cleared up within the next 2 days…or our vacation is in jeopardy! We have booked flights to Guilin and are staying at a lovely place recommended by some other teachers who went there last year…http://www.moon-resort.com/index.html…verdant craggy hills, misty rivers, mysterious caves and ancient villages! Can’t wait! Here’s hoping the mountain of meds I was sent home with do their magic! Catching this is no doubt due to the fact that children are a mountain of germs and I have been working way too hard…staying at school until 8pm on Tuesday night to create tests ended up not even being taken by half of the students cause they went home early for the holiday. Which is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China coinciding with a lunar festival — tonnes of people will be traveling…7 million extra people expected to descend on Beijing alone! Good thing they have that extra 7000 military troops to keep them in line!

...well I wasn't gonna post a sick photo!
