MARIA J. CRUZ
Maria has worked in the theatre, film, design and museum/gallery worlds of Vancouver, Toronto and Portugal. With an academic background in theatre and art history and a Masters of Museum Studies from the University of Toronto, Maria worked for three years as a Cultural Planner for Commonwealth Historic Resource Management Limited where she participated in policy and planning work for museums, cultural precincts and heritage resources throughout BC.
She has also worked in the public programming departments of the Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Museu Nacional de Archeologia in Lisbon Portugal as well as freelancing as a museums and culture consultant – most recently contracted by the City of Richmond: www.mariajcruz.com/consultant.
Maria is currently teaching in TEDA, Tianjin, China in a Canadian ESL program as an Socials Studies, Planning and Drama teacher for high school students transitioning into a BC high school certification program.
